Job Summary:
The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students with the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters while actively attending classes at LCC. The Student Program Associate will assist the Chief Operating Officer with the following: the OE webpages/social media updates/presentations/marketing ideas, senate participation, research for grants/ideas for on-campus activities, maintain emails, support special events with OE, food services outside Conference Services, generate topics for emergent programming/themes/ideas/music/playlists/movies for heritage and/or pride months/days. • Assists with Marketing and/or Public Relations to update website/pages through 5 Star Service Requests • Academic Senate Participation (student role) • Supports the Executive Assistant for the Chief Diversity Officer. • Aides the Executive Assistant for Chief Diversity Officer in their collaboration efforts with other departments within the college and in the community. • Responsible for the production of summary reports on the activities of the program. • Assists with conducting workshops, activities, and programs designed to accomplish the mission of the Office of Empowerment programs. • Responds accurately to inquiries by parents, students and other interested parties concerning the program. • Assists with the coordination of marketing and communications and assists with other recruitment activities on behalf of the programs. • Assists in securing and scheduling rooms, equipment, refreshments, and materials for meetings, workshops, seminars, programs, orientation, and training sessions. • Serve as a peer mentor with the Office of Empowerment Mentoring program. • Meet with supervisor(s) regularly and attend staff meetings, workshops and other program activities. • Assist in planning events and creating promotional materials
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:
The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows: • Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period) - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period) • 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator) Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS): - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period) - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)
Additional Position Requirements: • High School Diploma and Actively pursuing an associates or undergraduate degree @ LCC
• Customer service experience or similar (such as peer tutoring, mentoring, guidance/camp counselor, interpersonal skills etc.)
