Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Nurse Aide and Patient Care Technician Adjunct (part-time) faculty teach courses in didactic and lab formats. Depending upon program needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments will be on LCC’s downtown Lansing campus with the possibility of Livingston and East campus assignments. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty, department coordinators, and the Program Director to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, advisory board meetings, professional development activities, clinical and externship experiences, and other duties as assigned.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.

Current unencumbered State of Michigan Nursing (RN) License.

Current State of Michigan Nurse Aide Trainer Permit (or be eligible for within 30 days of employment).

Minimum 2-years of clinical experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the college or community college level.

Experience utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies, including online strategies.
