Job Summary:

This student employee position assists the Director of Emergency Management (DEM) in coordinating special projects and initiatives related to Emergency Preparedness across all campuses of Lansing Community College.

Primary Duties:

• Help implement and continuously improve current Emergency Preparedness (EP) initiatives
• Assist and participate in EP training, exercise and response
• Help track and assess progress of EP initiatives
• Help create an awareness of EP programs and activities
• Provide excellent customer service
• Support various on-going efforts of the Administrative Services Division
• Able to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for everyday business letters/memos, organizing data, e-mail correspondence and calendar scheduling

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.00 GPA or higher
• Selected candidate will remain enrolled at LCC through at least Fall 2021

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
Enrolled and actively attending the following minimum total LCC credit hours by semester:
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits (taken over 8-week period)
2.00 GPA minimum (unless it is the student's first semester of enrollment at LCC or approval to waive requirement is granted from the Student Employment Coordinator)

Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS):
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits (taken over 8-week period)
