Functions as the secondary source of instruction in the Mechatronics and Machining Labs to assist ERESA students in completing lab projects by providing necessary instruction. Provides evaluation of student performance as requested by the instructor of record. Ensures that the lab/workshop is set-up and prepared with all required tools and materials for the assigned class and planned instruction. Coordinates the maintenance of supplies, tools, equipment and facilities. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, Lab Assistants may be required to perform other duties as assigned in connection with the overall running of the Mechatronics and Precision Machining Programs.
Incumbent will also perform a variety of instructional and routine duties related to the operation of the ERESA Career Pathway Mobile Labs. The Mobile Labs are dual axle enclosed trailers designed to provide career awareness, exploration and hands-on experiences focusing on students in grades K - 8 in the career areas of Manufacturing, Welding, Robotics, Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Aviation, and related fields. The incumbent will provide career exploration and instructional lessons through the use of technical and career-related equipment and instructional materials to students and local district staff as they experience the Mobile Labs.
Must be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills in the lab to a diverse student population. Must have the ability to collaborate with students and peers in order to establish a safe environment where safety is not compromised. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Position adheres to ERESA Academic Calendar and may require working evenings, weekends, and summer months
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in manufacturing technology, automotive technology, precision machining, welding, aviation, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years documented work experience in the skilled trades area.
Successful experience working with students in an education or training environment.
