Job Summary:
The Senior Accounting Specialist reports to the Associate Controller and assists the Controller and Associate Controller in completing high-level accounting analysis, reconciliations, and internal and external reporting. This position must be able to work independently and have the knowledge and ability to complete complex data analysis, identify necessary adjusting entries, problem solve system issues, and identify areas of improvement or process changes in all areas including revenue, expense, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash and investments, and fixed assets. This position also serves as back up for the functions within the Accounting Department.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field.
Demonstrated advanced experience working with general ledger and fund balance reconciliations and data analysis.
Demonstrated advanced work with Microsoft Office and Adobe products, spreadsheet functions, and creating reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in governmental fund accounting highly recommended.
Experience preparing 1099s.
Experience working with fixed assets.
