Job Summary:

The Payroll Analyst reports to the Director of Payroll Operations and assists the Director in completing special projects related to the Payroll Financial/Human Resource system, financial reports, and internal or external reporting. The Payroll analyst must be able to work independently and have the ability to complete analysis, identify necessary adjusting entries, and identify areas for improvement or process changes in all areas including government reporting, payroll processing, verification of employment, annuity reporting, and Michigan Public Schools Pension Reporting. The Payroll Analyst also functions as back up for all functions for the Payroll Support positions. Responsible for payroll presentations and trainings at various campus locations and departments.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting and 2 years payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in a highly regulated industry.

Experience with government reporting.

Experience working with retirement, annuity or pension plans.

Experience with data analysis and reconciliations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement Systems (MPSERS) reporting.

Annuity and/or Pension reporting experience.
