Teach courses in Sign Language, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Bachelor's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university in Sign Language or any field with a minimum of 18 semester / 27 quarter hours coursework in the discipline.
State or National Interpreter Certification, or native ASL skills (Deaf). Certifications include BEI, EIPA 4.0+, ASLTA, SLPI Advanced or ASLPI Level 4.0 or higher, NIC, NIC Advanced, NIC Master, CI/CT, CSC.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university in any field plus ASLPI 4.0 or higher or SLPI Advanced or higher.
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Sign Language or related field and a minimum of 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) of graduate-level coursework in the discipline.
Previous teaching experience.
