Job Summary:

The Academic Advisor will provide direct support in the development, progression, and completion of students educational and career goals by providing academic transfer and career advising. The responsibilities of this position include coordination and implementation of the College and Career Readiness (CCR) curriculum, data reporting, and overseeing state mandated testing. The Academic Advisor is responsible for coordinating academic and social emotional supports for TEC and HSDCI students. This position serves as contact for the local high school liaisons and other stakeholders including students and families.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

Significant secondary or college level teaching, counseling/advising and/or administration experience that includes case management of at-risk students/clients and/or students with disabilities.

Demonstrated experience communicating with diverse groups.

Experience working with and using data for decision-making.

Must be able to travel for work and possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Secondary Teaching Certification

Guidance and Counseling Endorsement (NT) teaching certificate

Professional School Counselor License

High School counseling experience
