Job Summary:
Student employees working in the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) will assist with supporting CTE staff and LCC faculty as well as Faculty Fellow members. In addition, student staff are expected to complete various clerical office duties such as monitoring all CTE communications and related correspondence.
Monitor CTE staff communications and office correspondence duties: • Respond to e-mail messages received by the CTE’s main e-mail address • Acknowledge and advise of faculty related needs and requests for support/follow-up • Forward requests for CTE staff consultations to the appropriate CTE staff member(s) • Answer CTE office phone line
Support for CTE Staff and Faculty Fellows: • Development offerings - Complete registrations and record faculty attendance for CTE workshops - Promote CTE workshop offerings via CTE email correspondence and The Star newsletter • Submit reports for Faculty Professional Development completed with the CTE to divisions and departments (TOC, TLTT, Workshops) • Support for CTE staff with Open Learning and OER programs • Support for CTE staff with training on educational technology platforms (WebEx, WordPress, FlipGrid, Padlet, Kahoot, Microsoft Teams, etc.) • Special Projects related to as requested by CTE staff
Support for LCC Faculty: • Making course content accessible • Assisting Faculty with Banner Grade Entry • Support for educational technology (WebEx, WordPress FlipGrid, Padlet, Kahoot, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:
The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows: • Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period) - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period) • 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it is the student's first semester of enrollment at LCC or approval to waive requirement is granted from the Student Employment Coordinator)
Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS): - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period) - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)
