This position will teach courses in Building Construction and project management, which may include estimating, scheduling, materials and methods, construction technologies, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, building information modeling, sustainable construction, energy management/and or building, and construction contract law, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. The incumbent will work with the Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, and Civil Technologies programs and participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Other duties include participation in curriculum and course development, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and involvement in shared governance of the College. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population and work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and three years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR Associate's Degree in a related field and five (5) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field.

Michigan Builders License

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in construction or closely related field.

Certified OSHA 10-hour/30-hour instructor.

Professional accreditation/certification as a LEED AP, PE, CPC, CxA, or other related credential.

Experience in obtaining and managing private and public grants
