Job Summary:

This job posting is for a pooled position and will remain open for the 2026–2027 academic year. Student applicants are encouraged to follow up with the Department Contact listed above regarding their application status. Student positions are filled each semester on a need-to-hire basis; applications are reviewed only when positions are available.

Student employees in the Media and Art Resource Center (MARC) will assist with support use of Communication, Media and the Arts (CMA) classrooms, programs, and their resource materials. Provide quality, efficient customer service with serving students, faculty, and customers. Monitor equipment checkout and maintain related record keeping. Maintain classrooms supported by the MARC to ensure they are in neat order and that all equipment is in clean, working order. Implement computer classroom procedures. Training in the proper handling and maintenance of camera equipment, computers and their peripherals, and office procedures, will be provided. Assist with various clerical functions and other general office duties as directed.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
• Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
• 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Actively pursuing a certificate, associates, or undergraduate degree at Lansing Community College
Note: International students (i.e., F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS):
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.0 GPA
• Demonstrated timely completion of projects & tasks
• Familiarity with department’s computer classroom
• Experience and/or knowledge with computers (Windows & Mac OS)
• Experience and/or knowledge in at least one of the following program areas: Art and Design, Graphic Design, Photography, Web Design, Digital, Media, and Design (DMAC).
