Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer, this position is responsible for ensuring equity for all of LCC’s stakeholders through planning, developing, and managing complex data analytics projects and/or programs that may require new concepts, processes and/or procedures to ensure successful implementation with the college community. The Equity and Inclusion Director will support the Chief Diversity Officer in the development and implementation of the DEI strategies, such as the Equity Action Plan and be the point of contact for departmental DEI Leads throughout the college. The Equity and Inclusion Director works collaboratively with academic, administrative and all other departments and student leaders to develop and implement ODI initiatives aimed at advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) through a strong blend of both qualitative and quantitative research, reporting and presenting.

With a comprehensive understanding of a range of diversity issues and resources related to human rights, equal opportunity laws and demonstrated experience advancing equity within an educational or organizational setting, the incumbent educates, informs and advances principles and values of equity, diversity and inclusivity to the college community. This position will have leadership responsibilities and supervise one equity and inclusion coordinator, one lead support and one student worker.

This position will serve as a resource and consultant regarding all types of equity, diversity, and inclusion policies, procedures, and practices. This position will collaborate with both internal and external partners/stakeholders to develop strategies that addresses racism as a public health crisis. Assist with providing consultation and technical assistance on implementing an equity lens into programs, policies, and procedures to internal and external stakeholders. Develop metrics and analyze data that identifies opportunities to improve policies and practice. In addition, this Director will work closely with fellow directors on training and programs to that adequately serve internal and external stakeholders to promote the Office of Diversity and Inclusion through equity and inclusion initiatives.

This position works closely with the CDO, fellow directors, Human Resources, Risk Management Office, Student Affairs and other campus offices to ensure all students are represented well through appropriate and timely resolution of reported issues, concerns and/or violations and complaints of any form of discrimination against any person and/or group. Serves as a strong support for improving DEI practices and communicating these transparently and accurately to all of the college community through weekly, monthly quarterly, bi-annual and annual reporting and/or as needed.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution or a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of experience related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)

Demonstrated experience evaluating, analyzing, and managing complex data analytics
projects and/or programs.

Experience in marketing and leading programming related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating DEI trainings and presentations.

Demonstrated experience in management and supervision of diverse teams.

Experience in strategic planning organization-wide initiatives.

Demonstrated experience in organizational skills including experience in implementing programs, policies and procedures related to DEI.

Experience working with diverse populations.



Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution with a research focus on sociology, dispute resolution, human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion.

DEI Certification

Progressive professional experience in complex institutional organizations, preferably post-secondary education institutions.

Experience in recruiting, hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.

Grant writing, grant funded projects and fundraising experience.
