Job Summary:

This position is provisional and funded by ERESA. Its renewal is dependent on continued ERESA funding.

The successful candidate will teach high school students in a college setting through the Eaton County RESA. Qualified individuals will teach SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, plasma and oxy/fuel cutting processes. This faculty member will participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and actively participates in College initiatives.

This faculty member will also attend Eaton County RESA in-service meetings, conduct student progress meetings with parents, maintain up-to-date State of Michigan curriculum quality documents (TRAC/CIP), attend award ceremonies, attend Welding program faculty meetings and meet requirements/responsibilities for full-time faculty per LCC-MAHE contract agreement. This is a weekday position that aligns with the Eaton County RESA academic school calendar. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Welding with a minimum of two (2) years documented industry welding experience; OR Associate's Degree in Welding or Associate's Degree in another field with additional course studies related to welding (such as Journeyman certification course studies related to the welding field) and a minimum of three (3) years of documented industry welding experience; OR High School Diploma or GED with Journeyman certification course studies related to the welding field and a minimum of five (5) years of documented industry welding experience.

American Welding Society (AWS) membership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
