Teach courses in Dental Hygiene, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from a D.H. program accredited by CODA, OR a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from a D.H. program accredited by CODA.
One year teaching experience at the college or community college level in dental hygiene theory, lab, or clinical.
Documented background in current educational methodology concepts and continuing education credits consistent with dental hygiene course work.
Demonstrated experience in leadership.
Current Registered Dental Hygiene (RDH) License, with Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Certifications for the State of Michigan.
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) for Healthcare Providers with AED training.
Clinical practice work experience equivalent to two (2) years full-time or 2,040 hours.
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Three years of teaching experience at the college or community college level in dental hygiene theory, lab, or clinical.
