Job Summary:

Along with being an active member of the Center for Teaching Excellence activities and events, the CTE Open Learning Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all things related to Open Learning in the CTE. In addition, this person will be the administrator-liaison for the Reclaim Hosting (Web Server company contracted by LCC) account, including managing the Web Hosting Management system.

This person will work with the CTE director and staff to oversee technical and support aspects of the Open Learning Lab (OLL) and Open Educational Resources (OER) programs and will provide consultations, needs-analysis, professional development, and support for LCC faculty, staff, and students for these, as well as various educational technology applications and accessibility.

They will stay current in the aforementioned through professional publications and conferences and will participate in the planning, development, organization and implementation of CTE events and projects.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree

Experience and/or knowledge of WordPress (as consumer and/or website developer)

Experience and/or knowledge of Open Educational Resources

Experience and/or knowledge of Microsoft Office, Course Management Systems (like D2L), network file systems, Office 365, WebEx and/or Zoom Outlook

Experience with and/or knowledge of Accessibility (making documents accessible)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated experience with excellent customer service and supporting individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with teaching and/or educational technology experience

Experience in website design using WordPress

Experience in WordPress Web Host Management including C-Panels, domains, various plugins

Experience or knowledge of Creative Commons (publishing) licensing

Knowledge of or experience with Accessibility

Experience with developing and facilitating workshops for faculty and staff
