Student employees in the Construction Lab will assist instructors and lab assistants during class times and help prepare and maintain the lab before and after classes.

Primary Duties:
• Provide information on lab safety to students and visitors
• Ensure that lab safety procedures are followed at all times
• Ensure that the lab is clean, orderly, and properly prepared for each class
• Assist students, faculty, and lab assistants during class time as requested
• Assist in maintaining lab equipment
• Assist in inventorying and maintaining supplies for the lab
• Complete work requests for faculty and lab assistants
• Work with faculty and lab assistants on projects as requested
• Other responsibilities as needed and assigned

The successful applicant must be dependable, a self-starter, outgoing, fast learner, and able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. The ideal candidate will be a student in the Building Construction Program or the Construction Management Program. This position may require both daytime and evening work hours.

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester:
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
2.00 GPA minimum (unless it is the student's first semester of enrollment at LCC or approval to waive requirement is granted from the Student Employment Coordinator)

Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS):
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.00 GPA or higher
