Job Summary:

Student employees in the Center for Academic and Career Pathways (CACP) will provide general office assistance for both the Academic Advising and Career & Employment Services (CES) departments. Through employment with the CACP, student staff will gain valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, clerical office work and customer service.

Career Center and Academic Advising student staff assist with: answering/routing phone calls, updating documents/spreadsheets/databases, greeting/assisting visitors at the Career Center and Academic Advising service desk, assisting with department events, scheduling academic and career advising appointments and providing additional office support as needed.

Primary Job Duties:
• Provide exceptional customer service both on the phone and in-person
• Schedule academic advising and career advising appointments for students
• Provide general clerical support for the CACP including: filing, copying, shredding, restocking supplies, sorting mail and other tasks assigned
• Assist with department sponsored events and activities including workshops, job fairs and other campus events
• Work independently and cooperatively in a team-centered environment, performing a variety of duties and balancing multiple priorities on a continuing basis

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
Enrolled and actively attending the following minimum total LCC credit hours by semester:
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits (taken over 8-week period)
2.00 GPA minimum (unless it is the student's first semester of enrollment at LCC or approval to waive requirement is granted from the Student Employment Coordinator)

Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS):
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits (taken over 8-week period)
