Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.
Adjunct faculty teach courses in Emergency Medical Services, including planning, preparation and delivery of lecture/lab instruction materials at all levels of EMS training. Faculty members also participate in curriculum development and student advising.
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
Minimum three (3) years of experience in the EMS field
Demonstrate the ability to work with diverse population and as a member of a team
Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and current computer skills
Experience in emergency medicine/prehospital care
Knowledge of instructional methods
Teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation
Required Licensure/Certifications – must be kept current and documented proof must be submitted to division:
Current unencumbered State of Michigan Paramedic License
Current unencumbered State of Michigan Instructor Coordinator License
Current provider status in BLS and ACLS

Bachelor's Degree in education, leadership, or related healthcare discipline
Instructor status in ACLS and PALS
Experience in EMS education at EMT and Paramedic levels
Possess experience in classroom instruction using a variety of teaching methodologies
