Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Adjunct faculty teach courses in Emergency Medical Services, including planning, preparation and delivery of clinical instruction at all levels of EMS training. Faculty members also participate in curriculum development and student advising.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university

Registered Nurse with current unencumbered State of Michigan nursing license

Current provider status in Basic Life Support (BLS) must be submitted prior to issuance of final offer of employment

Significant full-time experience in the professional discipline (RN, EMT, or Paramedic)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.

Current unencumbered State of Michigan Instructor Coordinator (IC) license

Current unencumbered EMT or Paramedic license

Possess experience in classroom instruction, training in the work setting, or coaching experience

Experience in Emergency Department and/or critical care nursing

Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and current computer skills
