Job Summary:

The Lansing Community College Technical Careers Division, offering over 30 programs in which we focus on providing students with high quality education and training, including significant hands-on learning opportunities, is seeking experienced, committed, and dynamic support personnel to assist our exceptional students, faculty, and staff. This position is provisional and funded by the Perkins grant. Its renewal is dependent on continued Perkins grant funding.

This position coordinates work-based learning programs and events (as in employer visits, classroom presentations, and work-based learning projects) for the Technical Careers Division, maintains communication with industry partners to promote and develop opportunities for students and overall partnerships with LCC. Specifically, these opportunities and partnerships allow students to apply knowledge and skills gained through education while serving industry needs. This position provides continuous oversight of students before and during their learning experience to help ensure success and overcome industry skill-gaps. The incumbent will gather data and produce reports for divisional initiatives. Additional responsibilities include assisting divisional leadership with continuous quality improvement activities and coordinating work-based learning projects with faculty, employers and students. They will coordinate grant activities and advisory board meetings.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree with two (2) or more years of related experience preferably in education, Trades Technology, Public Service Careers, Aviation, Computer Information Technology, or related area.

Knowledge and/or experience working with spreadsheets and databases.

Demonstrated related experience with work-based learning or training programs, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working with industry partners

Prior experience leading teams or projects

Prior experience organizing events and projects

Prior experience in a higher education environment.
