Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

The Corporate Training and Continuing Education programs seek adjunct faculty to teach non-credit courses in Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 licensure, and provide these specialized courses in the Community Education and Workforce Development Division (CEWD). This position is offered on an upon demand and on call/as needed basis. These intermittently offered courses provide customized corporate training opportunities and open enrollment continuing education for employee development in UAS licensure and drone piloting. This position is an as-needed teaching assignment, at Lansing Community College Downtown, West Campus, East and Livingston County Extension Centers, or, offsite locations as needed. The CEWD Division is seeking adjunct faculty with teaching/training and/or work experience in areas such as (but not limited to): Experience in drone operation, current Federal Aviation Administration Remote Pilot License (UAS Part 107), flying private aircraft.

Faculty and Corporate Trainers develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, deliver course instruction to students, assist and advise students outside of class, and assess student learning. Contributes to business needs assessment/analysis and provides business consultation. Adjunct faculty work collaboratively with senior department faculty and administrators, attend department/program meetings, and participate in professional development activities. Faculty demonstrate a commitment to diversity, student success, a team-based environment, continuous improvement, and the community college philosophy.

Required Qualifications:

Experience in drone operation.

Current Federal Aviation Administration Remote Pilot License (UAS Part 107).

Licensed private pilot.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching and/or experience training drone usage in a K-12, college, workplace training, or apprenticeship program.

Experience teaching online.
