This faculty member will teach courses in Manufacturing Engineering Technologies (MET) consistent with the evolving state of the discipline and accepted trends in teaching methods. A solid understanding of the machine tool field as well as mechanical and electrical technologies is desired, including but is not limited to: manual and CNC machining, CNC programming, CAD/CAM/solid modeling, and machine tool maintenance/repair. It is preferred that the faculty member has a strong knowledge base with multi-axis CNC CAM programming utilizing Mastercam and the HAAS controller. A background in the set-up and operation of the HAAS UMC 750 and the DS30Y is essential to the position. This full time teaching position includes instruction of three to five courses per semester, which could include any of these subjects:
• Manufacturing Processes
• Precision Machining –CNC Multi Axis
• CAM programming Fusion/Mastercam
• Metallurgy and Heat Treatment
• Metrology and Advanced Inspection
• Eaton RESA Tech Careers High School Programs (Mechatronics, Machining, etc.)
The faculty member will share responsibilities with current full-time faculty for the organization and functionality of the MET Program. Strong communication skills and computer proficiency are a must. The faculty member will participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees, with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. He/she will also participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and shared governance of the College. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Technologies/related field and two (2) years recent, relevant work experience, OR Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technologies/related degree and four (4) years recent, relevant work experience, OR Journey status in a manufacturing trade and four (4) years recent/relevant work experience, OR High School Diploma and eight (8) years recent/relevant documented work experience.
Instructional teaching experience in post-secondary education.
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, metallurgy, chemistry, metrology, or related field and coursework related to Manufacturing Processes and computer integrated manufacturing.
Experience in Dual Spindle, Live Tooling Turning Centers.
Experience in the set-up and operation of the HAAS UMC 750 and the DS30Y.
Experience in industrial Robotic and Automation programming/maintenance.
Experience in welding/fabrication technology.
Experience in repair and maintenance of manual and CNC machining equipment.
Software experience with Mastercam, Autodesk Fusion, AutoCad.
NOCTI Certificate in Precision Machining Technology
