Job Summary:

Student employees in Utility and Energy Systems Program will assist instructors and lab assistants during scheduled class times and help prepare and maintain the lab before and after classes.

Primary Duties
• Provide information on lab safety to students and visitors
• Ensure that lab safety procedures are followed at all times
• Ensure that the lab is clean, orderly and properly prepared for each class
• Assist students, faculty, and lab assistants during class time as requested
• Assist in maintaining lab equipment
• Assist in inventorying and maintaining supplies for the lab
• Complete work requests for faculty and lab assistants
• Work with faculty and lab assistants on projects as requested
• Other responsibilities as needed

The successful applicant must be dependable, a self-starter, outgoing, fast learner and able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. This position may require daytime and evening hours.

Additional Position Requirements
• Actively pursuing an associate’s degree or certificate in an area of study within Electrical Technology; OR demonstrated work experience in an electrical field

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
• Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester:
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
• 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it is the student's first semester of enrollment at LCC or approval to waive requirement is granted from the Student Employment Coordinator)

Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS):
     - Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period)
     - Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.00 GPA or higher
