Job Summary:

Serves as the administrator charged with managing the Surgical Technology Program, assuring that the program reflects current work place and industry and accreditation requirements. Provides coordination of the clinical component and is the liaison between LCC and the clinical affiliates. Manages and oversees instruction for an intercollegiate, collaborative program. Prepares program budgets, monitors expenditures, supervises faculty, assists with curriculum development, advises students, and maintains liaison with other LCC departments, external agencies, advisory committees, and the community. Provides didactic and clinical instruction within the program as required, including all teaching formats (face-to-face, hybrid, and online). Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology from a regionally accredited college or university

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university

Minimum total of five years of experience, as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.

Possess proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.

Certifications / Licenses (must be kept current and provide documents to program):

Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be submitted prior to issuance of final offer of employment

Member of the Association of Surgical Technology (AST)

Preferred Qualifications:

Administrative experience
